The Nikon Coolpix L830 is an ergonomic, easy to use camera with a nice 34x optical zoom (68x dynamic zoom). It's one of few cameras that still use AA batteries, which makes it nice for traveling since the batteries are easy to swap out. Since it doesn't offer manual modes but has a good arrangement of automatic settings, it's a nice option for the average consumer that wants something easy to use. The 1/2.3” sensor is backlit, so low light images should fare pretty well for the price and category. Nikon also included a vibration reduction system to help reduce camera shake.

Hi, I’m Andy. I’ve been taking pictures for just about as long as I’ve been old enough to hold a camera. I studied photography in community college after high school but was encouraged to follow a career path that was more stable. I do gigs here and there on the side but never took the leap to focus my efforts full-time. When Pam reached out to me through a mutual friend, I jumped on the opportunity to be a writer. Favorite type of photography: macro and street.
