Canon Reviews: Canon Camera Lineup

It doesn't come as much of a surprise that the first Canon camera was made out of a frustration for the high cost of the cameras that were available at the time. Over 80 years later, Canon is still building cameras that, for the most part, are competitively priced but still capture quality pictures.

Canon is known for their DSLRs, but they have a few gems in their point-and-shoots as well. A few of their compacts disappointed us this year, however, with slower speeds and fewer updates compared to similar cameras. There's a few we've come across that are a bit too slow compared to what else is out there--like the ELPH 350. Most of the time Canon is priced well, but sometimes we'll see a model like the D30 and just shake our heads.

But, Canon compact cameras get high marks more often than not. Their advanced compacts offer the high quality of their DSLRs in a slimmer package, like with the G1X Mark II. They have quite a few budget options as well, as well as some decent travel zooms and super zooms.

Here's the current Canon camera lineup. (Head here for the Canon DSLR lineup).
